The VPN 2nd kilo class submarine has been launched

Jan 5, 2013- Airbase.ru, a military forum website, has posted a new image showing the second kilo class submarine of Vietnam People's Navy (VPN). The submarine is told that will be supplied to Vietnam.

The VPN 2nd Kilo class submarine was launched on December 28, 2012.

According to the sources of Airbase.ru, this is the second Project 636 Kilo diesel-electric submarine launched by Admiralty plant in St. Petersburg for Vietnam.

The first Kilo class submarine for Vietnam (began sea test in early of December 2012) was launched on August 28, 2012, while the Kilo in the photo was launched on December 28, 2012.

The VPN first Kilo class submarine was launched on August 28, 2012.

Currently, the Admiralty plant is building three in a series of six Project 636 Kilo-class submarines for Vietnam People's Navy.
