Boosting defence cooperation between Vietnam and other countries
Deputy Defence Minister, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh warmly received the Foreign Defence and Military Attaches Corps in Vietnam, who paid a courtesy visit to the Defence Ministry on the occasion of the Lunar New Year on February 20th at the Defence Headquarters.
After reviewing Vietnam’s outstanding results in defence external relations in 2012, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh appreciated the contributions made by foreign defence and military attaches in Vietnam to the development of friendly relations, mutual understanding and confidence between Vietnam and other countries, especially in defence cooperation.
The Deputy Defence Minister also hoped that foreign defence and military attaches would continue to serve as bridges, boosting ties between the Vietnam People’s Army and other armies for peace, stability and development in the region and the world.
On behalf of the delegation, Thai Defence Attache, Colonel Siravuth Wongkantee, Head of the Foreign Defence and Military Attaches Corps in Vietnam, thanked the Vietnamese Deputy Defence Minister for his warm reception and the Vietnamese Defence Ministry for its creating good conditions for them to fulfill their 2012 tasks.
He also affirmed that foreign defence and military attaches in Vietnam would closely coordinate with Vietnamese competent defence and military agencies in all fields in fulfilling the common objective: Making defence cooperation between Vietnam and other countries deeper, more practical and effective.
