US, Japan conduct joint military drill over Pacific waters

Jan 16, 2013- US and Japanese fighter jets have carried out joint air exercises over Pacific waters off southwest Japan.

Tuesday’s air combat drill was conducted by Japan’s Self-Defense Forces and US troops based in Japan. It’s the second day of a 5-day exercise involving six US FA-18 fighters and around 90 American personnel, and 4 Japanese F-4 jets and an unspecified number of people. It’s being held over waters off the coast of Shikoku, the fourth largest of Japan’s islands.
