Vietnam - Italian: Bilateral Defense Cooperation

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung affirmed to support for the development of bilateral defense cooperation and it is considered an important pillar of the strategic partnership between the two countries. Minister Giampaolo Di Paola expressed confidence the upcoming state-visit to Italy by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong will elevate the strategic partnership between the two countries.

Earlier, in his talks with Defense Minister Phung Quang Thanh, Admiral Giampaolo Di Paola has been emphasis on security and safety of navigation in the South China Sea as well as appreciate the role, position and influence of Vietnam in peace maintaining and stability in this region. The two sides discussed about the cooperation the next time, which emphasized the importance of human resource training and cooperation in bilateral defense industry.
