Vietnamese Prime Minister visits S-300 unit

Jan 14, 2013- PANO – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung paid a working visit to Air-Defence Unit 64 of Air-Defence Division 361 under the Air Defence and Air Force on January 13th and checked the unit’s training watch positions and combat readiness states. Air-Defence Division 361 is an air-defence unit, mainly responsible for protecting Hanoi’s airspace and its subordinate unit 64 is one of air-defence units equipped with air-defence missiles S-300 PMU 1.


After a tour checking the unit’s duty positions and combat readiness, the Prime Minister expressed delight in the Air-Defence and Air Force’s fast growth and new developments, which could ensure firm protection of Hanoi’s airspace in any situation and defeat any attempt to strike the Capital City from the air.


The Prime Minister applauded and highly valued the efforts of Division 361 in general and Unit 64 in particular in quickly mastering and exploiting modern weapons.
The Prime Minister also asked the unit to further bring its heroic traditions in the past into play, prepare to defeat any enemy in any contingency. He also instructed the unit’s officers and soldiers to further broaden their knowledge, improve their expertise and military skills and actively train combat plans in order to gain advantage in all situation.

“The Party and State try their best to equip the Army in accordance with the country’s abilities so that it can soon become a modern army,” the Prime Minister stressed.

He also affirmed that the Government was seeking approaches to improve lives of officers and soldiers as well as their families.

On the eve of the traditional Lunar New Year festival, the Prime Minister wished good health, success and happiness to the unit’s officers and soldiers and sent the best wishes to their families.
