Vietnam and Thailand agreed to step up friendly and cooperative military relations between the two countries, based on the “National Defence Agreement of Vietnam and Thailand’s Ministries of National Defence” signed in September, 2012.

The two sides reached the consensus during the working visit of Vietnam’s national military delegation to Thailand from March 11–14, at the invitation of General Sukumpol Suwanatat, Thailand’s Minister of Defence.

Head of the delegation, Vietnam’s Minister of National Defence, General Phung Quang Thanh, highly valued the cooperation relations between Vietnam and Thailand, adding that the two countries should work together to foster bilateral and multilateral relations towards the formation of an ASEAN community by 2015.

The minister affirmed the necessity of boosting friendship and cooperation ties to speed up the execution of agreements in national defence cooperation signed earlier by the two countries, particularly in naval cooperation.

The Vietnamese defence minister’s visit aims to evaluate the two countries’ national defence cooperation, and look at detailed measures to foster future cooperation, enhancing friendship, mutual understanding and trust between the two countries and their military forces for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

  1. The body language of the 2 generals is quite contrasting. The Vietnamese guy looks tense and seems to be scared of something. The Thai general's facial expression is pretty relaxed. You can see him smiling in the photo.

This year Vietnam did not take part in the annual millitary exercise in South East Asia with the American and many other Asian armies in any shape or form.

Last month, the Vietnamese government did not commemorate the anniversary of the Sino Vietnamese border war. The Communist leader and their general are cowards! You know why? They are so scared of China! Those soldiers who died in the war to defend Vietnam are all forgotten. What a disgrace! The Vietnamese armed forces don't serve and protect the people as they should do. They are being used as an instrument to protect the interest of the Communist party and its regime which is subservient to the Chinese. They are brutal and ruthless to their own people. These Communist bastards let the Chinese in Vietnam to destroy the local economy and the environment. They've made so much damage to the country.

It's time to stand up and demand answers and force these bastards out of the government.
